Abstract Submission

Instructions

The call for abstracts is now open. The deadline for submission is Friday, 17 September 2010.

Authors are requested to study the instructions below before preparing and submitting an abstract.

Abstracts are subject to review. Abstract acceptance, program scheduling and the form of presentation will be communicated via email only to the person entered in the Address for Correspondence section.

There are four categories for abstracts, and while it is acknowledged that not all abstracts will easily fall into one category, you should make a judgment and select the category that appears most appropriate for your abstract:

  • Clinical Care: Papers on clinical issues relating to cardiology, cardiac surgery, cardiac nursing, and management of cardiovascular conditions at primary care level would fall into this category.
  • Basic Science: All papers on basic or biomedical research relevant to cardiovascular health would fall into this category.
  • Public Health: This category includes all papers on social determinants of health, primary prevention of chronic disease, health promotion, epidemiology, policy and advocacy..
  • Health Services: All papers focused on health systems, whether at primary, acute, or tertiary care, or at the interface between these sectors, would fall into this category.

The size of abstract is limited to 250 words without a table. Inclusion of a table will reduce the word count to 180 words.

Abstracts must be submitted and presented in English. Text should be entered in upper and lower case.

Do not type abstract titles or abstract text all in capital letters.

The abstract should include objective, methods, results and conclusions. Conclusions of the form - “Results will be discussed” - are not acceptable. Only standard abbreviations may be used.

Abstracts submitted for presentation will be published exactly as submitted. Copy should be checked for accuracy and misspelling prior to submission.

Do not send multiple submissions of the same abstract. Note your abstract submission number and password for access to your abstract for editing prior to the submission deadline.
